QualityMetrics was involved in an innovative program before the pandemic to create reading corners in laundromats to ensure people who frequent these facilities have spaces where their children and themselves are exposed to learning resources, books, technology, and they also learn to use the technology and learning resources for improving their lives. We believe this project had a lot of potential and was adversely impacted by Covid-19. We want to make sure the final report of this projects is accessible as there are valuable lessons we can learn as we are rebuilding new innovative services for communities these days! QualityMetrics completed the final evaluation for Wash and Learn, an IMLS leadership grant; and, also, developed an approach for understanding the communities around the laundromats. The Wash and Learn lessons will prove useful as we are engaging in digital inclusion projects funded by NTIA for communities with limited internet connectivity and limited digital services!
